  • It is amazing how fast one can get behind...

I attended a seminar in the last 6 months where the speaker indicated that you should have a slideshow in a week and the proofs in two.  Actually I think he said it was less than that.  Recently, a discussion on his blog sparked a question as to how it was possible if the photographer was going to review every image.  His response was simple...it's a proof delivery, nothing has to be perfect.

Well I and many others disagree with this philosophy!  I want to ensure that the first look newlyweds take at their photographs is an exciting one.  I don't want them to think...hmmm hope these are better when she "adjusts" them.  Not to mention, the proof website I provide allows anyone who visits and opportunity to purchase photographs and have them shipped directly to their house.  Can't do that with "proofs".

Needless to say, it takes me approximately 1 hour to got through 100 photographs.  I take about 1000 photographs at each wedding event.  That doesn't include creating a flush mount album presentation which could take anywhere between 5 minutes to hours and hours per page.  Currently I am working 4 hours a week on adjustments....the math doesn't look good in this one!

I promise my client their photographs anywhere between 2-6 weeks depending on the season.  As I have 2-3 weddings a weekend right now, I am shooting for 4 weeks but making it to 6 on a couple.  The endless battle for any of us is the need for more time.....

Anyone seen the previews for the movie "click"...I could use that remote!!  Just pause a few things while I get work done...that would be fabulous!

Good luck to you all and thank you for your patience to my couples!
