Month: December 2006

  • HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

This year has been fabulous in so many ways both professionally and personally.  This was the most successful year for Pechan Photography with 27 weddings and several events (which was impressive during a high risk pregnancy).  I was able to meet so many wonderful couples who were surrounded with wonderful family and friends!

Personally, we were blessed not only to have our fabulous 2 year old daughter but we were also blessed with the addition of our handsome little boy Joshua.

As 2006 comes to a close many ask...what are your plans for 2007???  Pechan Photography will be reducing the number of weddings each month to two weddings (Several months are already booked!).  This will allow me to focus on my clients and provide them with a quality product!  So many photographers attempt to get as much business as possible...the problem is that some of their work starts to look like they are using a cookie cutter instead of a camera.  I want to get back to the creative side of photography.  Not to mention, I am not a photographer to support myself or my family.  Mainly I charge for the work I do to support my habit as a photographer.  As many of you know, it can be a very large investment.  I hope during 2007 to gain additional experience in the portrait arena.  As I do not own studio lights, I will be making an investment this year of some sort (time and money) in studio lights.

As far as what 2007 will bring for me personally?  More time with my beautiful family!!  Family is the most important thing on this earth to me. I am so incredibly blessed to have our family and a husband that allows me to stay home during the day and raise our little ones.  This year will be a challenge with the new addition, but I am ready and more than willing.

My last blog of the year wouldn't be complete with out a few photographs.  Usually I would choose my favorite work photo, but I have posted my favorites each time I blog.  So just look over the year or the photos for those ones.  Instead, I thought I would include my favorite nonwork shots of 2006....enjoy!!

    Happy New Year!!

  • Merry Christmas!!

I wanted to wish each and every one of you the very best this Holiday Season!  Just a little picture I tried to do in the middle of the night when the little one wasn't sleeping!  I need alot of practice, but not bad for a shot with out lights, by myself, in the middle of the night with out sleep....

  • Happy Birthday to me...

Yep...It's my Bday...can't tell you how old, but it is old enough for some things and young enough for others!!

  • Update...

Okay, I am on my last wedding to post process...but I am exhausted and heading to bed!!  With a 3 week old, 2 1/2 year old and hubby working at home, the only time I have had to work is from 9pm-3am.  Of course baby still wakes up every two hours to eat and the toddler wakes up at 7am.  It has been a long two weeks!!  Luckily husband is back in town...I even got to sleep in until 9am this morning!

Here are a few shots from the wedding I am working on.  They were taken at the new temple in Sacramento.

I have been so busy trying to complete the weddings that are way overdue that I forgot to give credit where credit is due.  As many of you know, I was pregnant during the busiest wedding time this year.  I was lucky enough to have a budding photographer fill in as my assistant for two weddings.  The first was for Tiffany and Jason.  Who you might ask?  Robin's son Andrew!  Specifics about this fabulous young man will have to come from him or Robin, but let me just tell you that I really enjoyed working with him.  Here are a few shots of his from the first wedding.  Check out the gallery link below for additional photographs (we have different file names).

I can't believe how absolutely fabulous this couple was on their wedding day.  They had planned an outdoor beach wedding at Lake Tahoe...but it was rained out!  However, they just kept on going with out skipping a beat!Such a wonderful couple, great family and friends...just a fabulous day, despite the rain!
