Update…
I am headed out of town this weekend to Utah and Colorado. I am incredible lucky to have clients in each state that are getting married here in Sacramento. While I am there, I plan on photographing at least one engagement session as well as investigating possible places for relocation. Yep, we may move out of California in a couple of years…then again I don’t know if I can ever leave this beautiful State!
On another note, I wanted to post the following article regarding blogs and how they are being used by potential employers.

It however does work the opposite way as well:

It is amazing how fast words travel these days and how careful you need to be with everything you say, write and now type. Best advice, keep your friends, family and business safe and be careful what you post. The bright side…there is no better way to mass market!!
Good luck and best wishes to you all!!

totally agree…we really do need to be careful what we write because there’s something permament about the written word as opposed to just saying something in passing.
How true how true!! Thanks for the links, I am going to be doing a presentation on blogging, and these will be great resources!!
I totally agree as well. Blogging and foruming are awesome ways to reach clients and network with fellow professionals, but they can also kill you very quickly. I lost the friendndship of one prominent Xangan a while ago by making a naive blog comment and cracking a joke on a forum, and I regret it to this day.
Thanks for commenting on my blog, and I’m so happy to see that there are other level-headed people out there who realize the silliness that goes on with the whole “fanboy” scene. Cameras have really gotten to a point where you can safely buy ANY current model and never regret it. (though I usually recommend buying the 2nd older generation, like the Canon 20D and my Nikon D70, because I believe they represent the best value. Another thing that is foreign to many people these days…)
Take care,
-Matt-
Have a great weekend in Colorado and Utah. Sorry I missed your call yesterday. Talk to you when you get back.
hey there, thanks for commenting on my xanga! =) sweet action, gl on the wedding photos. post some after pics or something! =)
I totally agree with you! I usually don’t like to post about something until it happens, especially personal stuff. Business workshops and things like that are different. You are so right.. you just can’t be too careful. Ps: Love your photos of Utah… so beautiful. We just got back from Canada and it was so incredibly beautiful there too!!!! ~ Dawn
