You may remember January 2007 I flew out to Colorado to photograph the engagement session of these two adorable people.  Well they finally tied the not this past Saturday at Arden Hills Country Club here in Sacramento.  There were surprises the entire day and everything went fabulous well.  These two have absolutely fabulous friends and family that made the day beautiful and fun!

Check out a quick slideshow of the day (click photo). A few of the images are from my assistant Andrea Herman who is new to the photography industry but learning so quickly!

On another note, I am moving this weekend (if we get our keys on Friday).  I have so much to share once we get settled in!

There are few things more fun then shooting an engagement session on private property owned by the happy couple's family.  We explored every nook around the ceremony/reception site.  Here are just a few of my favorites.  I am so excited for the wedding day!!

On another note, I have 2 more engagement sessions to post as well as 3 weddings.  However, our family will be moving once again next weekend.  I know we have only been in this rental for 6 months, but if everything works out it will be well worth it.

I have been terrible at posting during 2008, but there is no time to remedy that like the present!  Today I will share with you an engagement session taken back in January...this fabulous couple were married mid-march.  I will post their wedding photographs in a few weeks.  I just have too much to catch my Xanga friends up on!

We took these photographs at a park here in Sacramento the day after the terrible storms.  The ground was soggy wet but the day was beautiful.  We were interviewed by Channel 3 news (talk about the weather), my first 5 seconds on T.V.  I even saw the News caster slip and fall just after he got out of the truck (sorry Mike!!).

  • Tahoe...

We went to Tahoe this weekend with some friends of ours.  We played in the snow, went to the beach and saw a parade!  I love this shot of my little ones.  My boy wondering why he didn't get a lolly pop and my daughter looking at him like "I'm so not sharing".

  • Mr. & Mrs. Harder

These two wonderful people were married at the Cathedral here in Sacramento in February.  The reception was right across the street from the Church at the Pyramid brewery.  The evening was a whirl wind of excitement and so fabulously endearing!

I am still playing catch up from the 3 weeks of our family being sick and out of commission, but I thought I would share a few images (most of them untouched) of the wedding.

I have soooo much more to share!

  • Update...

Things have been beyond crazy this past month.  My son had an ear infection in both ears.  Both of my little ones had pink eye and of course gave it to my husband.  While taking care of everyone else these last 4 weeks I have had 2 episodes of the flu.  I am so incredibly sick and tired of being sick and tired!!

I have a couple of weddings to share and album designs that I have kept busy with.  Two of my lenses broke...one right before a wedding and one during a wedding.  How it's possible? I have no idea but one broke in half.  These two lenses (nikon/tameron) have broken before so I think it is time to retire them to the circular bin and buy some new glass.

I am slowly catching up on everyone's posts (my in box is just a mess).  I'm going to a seminar on friday.  I'll have to report back soon.  I do wish everyone the best!!

These two were married on January 5, 2008 at the Sacramento LDS Temple. Yep, that was the weekend of the worst storm in years. They fought through the wind and the rain smiling! Such an adorable couple!!  Such terrible weather.  I was only there for two hours taking shots inside and out.  I am still amazed I got anything given how bad the weather was!

  • MS One Note...

I'm not one to recommend one software or process over another as everyone has different needs.  However, if you are one to use sticky notes, notebooks, to do lists or have a ton of paperwork you need to organize, then MS One Note is for you.

It is AWESOME!!  I can not only keep track of my current tasks, but I now have a data base for my client stuff that can't be beat.  With a scanner and a few clicks, I can keep their contact information, contract, notes....anything.  Gone are my piles of things to get too, I just scan them in and create a tab for them.  I don't have to look at them now....and I can organize them for future reference.

You can paste documents, links, files and contact information with just a click.  If you have a chance, try it. I believe it is part of the latest MS software package containing outlook, excel, word etc.

Good luck, you will wonder what you ever did with out it!!

  • Madam DragonFly & Lady Mantis

I appreciate the comments!  We actually did a reshoot for a couple of the dresses as the details were lost in the background..here are a few of the shots.

Just on a side note, the photographs are for a book titled "500 wearable art".  There were several requirements as to the back ground and the look the designer was going for.  Which is why we took the "bug" out for a walk in nature.

Hopefully a few of her dresses are selected!!

  • Wearable Art

I was recently approached to photograph a designer's (http://www.rebeccawendlandt.com) line of wearable art for a submission of her work.  The photos could not be adjusted and were to be taken outside.  The deadline is next week so we had to hurry once the weather cleared up.

There were a total of 6 dresses and 5 of them are based after insects....tell me what you think for my first designer shoot. (I did edit a little for my post).
